Tailgate Light Bars

There aren’t many accessories that will enhance the appearance of your truck and at the same time make it safer to drive, but our Tailgate Light Bars certainly meet the requirements. These LED light bars fit neatly in the recess between the rear bumper and tailgate, and connect to your truck’s electrical system to work in conjunction with the running, brake, turn signal, and hazard lights, and some will display the back-up lights as well. With an LED light bar installed, you’ll get admiring stares from car buffs and increased awareness of your truck from all motorists.

We offer a range of rigid and flexible bars in different sizes and with various features, so no matter what size truck you drive, a small compact truck or a full-size hauler, you can get the right length bar with the desired functionality. Choose from mini bars that are centrally located or bars that span the width of the tailgate. Most bars secure to the vehicle with screws, clips or 3M adhesive tape, and plug into your truck’s 4-pin towing connector, or they can be hard-wired into the electrical system. Complete instructions and everything needed for installation are supplied with the light kit.

All of our tailgate light bars are illuminated by high-tech LEDs. LEDs are particularly appropriate for the application because of their faster rise time and the tremendous amount of illumination they produce when grouped together. You get maximum custom effects, and the brightest light for safety. Their compact size enables them to fit neatly within the tailgate/bumper recess, and their insensitivity to vibration means they’ll be unaffected by poor roads or off-roading. LEDs are especially suited to brake lights because they light up 0.2 seconds faster than incandescent bulbs, which may not sound like much, but when you consider that at 60 mph a car travels 88 ft. in one second, that time can give the driver behind almost 20 ft. of additional stopping distance.

Although any of these lights are sure to get the attention of enthusiasts and commuters alike, you can choose features that are even more eye-catching. All of our lights will function when you press the brake pedal, use the turn signals, and turn on the running lights, and some even work in conjunction with the reverse lights, but we also offer lights that scan sequentially when the turn signals or brake lights are activated, for an exceptional custom effect. We also offer light bars that illuminate in other colors besides the standard red, amber and white used for running and brake lights, turn signals and reverse lights respectively, but colors like purple, orange and green may be appropriate for show purposes only and may not be legal for highway use. We also offer several specialized tailgate light bars. Our back-up light only LED light bar was created specifically to provide greater illumination when in reverse and maneuvering in darkness - especially helpful when backing up a trailer. The Work Blade LED light bar is designed for construction, DOT (Department of Transportation), tow trucks, snowplows, and other work vehicles, and features selectable amber and white light strobe patterns and strobe speeds controlled by an included wireless remote control. The fully encapsulated tinted polycarbonate housing has an IP69K ingress protection rating against the intrusion of dust and moisture, the highest possible, for reliable performance in the harshest weather. The patented clip attachment system allows easy light bar removal if necessary.
