Rock Lights

As the name suggests, rock lights were originally developed for rock crawling. When off-roading in irregular, rocky and hilly terrain, rock lights can be positioned on the underbody to illuminate the ground underneath the vehicle as well as the area immediately to the front, rear and sides. This light is invaluable for detecting obstacles and determining proper wheel placement for the best path through the terrain. Their diminutive size, ruggedness and weather resistance means rock lights can be mounted just about anywhere. When mounted on the underbody they can also provide light for making repairs, guide your footing when exiting the vehicle, and show off suspension and driveline mods on lifted trucks. Rock lights are specifically designed with the durability needed to deliver brilliant light in the harsh undercar environment. The key to their reliability is with the LED chips that supply the dazzling illumination, and the sturdy pods they’re encased in. Unlike some types of underbody lights that can be fragile, LEDs are impervious to shock and vibration, so they’re perfect for off-road going trucks and Jeeps. They’re much more efficient than other light sources and don’t need to draw a lot of power to create a prodigious amount of light, so you can mount as many as you want without straining your electrical system. The LED light pods are designed to withstand off-road abuse and most have high IP (Ingress Protection) ratings, indicating exceptional resistance to water and dust intrusion.

These lights come with mounts, wiring, and everything needed for installation, but custom mounts are available if you want to mount pods at an angle or mount them to a tubular surface. Both single color and multicolor LED rock lights are available with remote control. While specific functionality will vary according to kit, single color lights can typically be dimmed, made to strobe, even appear to “breathe” as the lights repeatedly dim and go to full brightness. Most multicolor lights can be controlled via a smartphone app and set to illuminate in one color or change colors. You can control the choice of colors, choose different color changing patterns, slow down or speed up the rate of change, create a strobe effect, change brightness, and make colors change to the beat of music.
