Ford Expedition Spark Plug Wires, Ignition Wires

Shop By Service Type

Depending on the model year and engine type, your Ford Expedition may have one of three main kinds of ignition: distributor-based electronic, distributorless, or coil-on-plug. In fact, all of them are controlled by electronics, but the second and third types don't use a distributor to send electrical impulses to the combustion chambers. Instead of this part, distributorless systems use a special module having one ignition coil for each cylinder or pair of cylinders. The module can be placed in any suitable part of the engine bay and, like a traditional distributor, it requires ignition wires to provide each plug with the current.

For optimal performance and durability, the wires have a multi-layer structure, strong isolation, and specifically selected resistance. As for the coil-on-plug system, it features an individual coil for each cylinder, which is located over the plug and connects with it through a special spark plug boot. But although this solution is considered the most reliable, issues with a faulty coil or boot are not that rare. Whatever type of ignition system is installed in your SUV, a wide range of Ford Expedition spark plug wires and boots can be found in our store.
