The Ford E-Series, also known as the Ford Econoline, is one of the automaker’s longest-lasting lineups of vehicles. The nameplate first appeared in 1961 and was previously applied to passenger and cargo vans. Starting in 2015, when the Econoline van lineup was superseded by the Ford Transit, only cutaway and stripped chassis versions remained in production for commercial use. Cutaway cabs provide incredible versatility, enabling a variety of upfit options for utility and service operations, as well as camper, shuttle bus, ambulance configurations, etc. Stripped chassis comes without any body parts whatsoever, ready to further adopt different body styles. Whether you’re looking for quality automotive parts that will keep your vehicle up and running or 2021 Ford E-Series accessories to tailor it to the specifics of your business, be sure we have exactly what you need.
After skipping the 2020 model year, the 2021 E-Series returns with a range of changes. Ford dropped the previous 6.8-liter Triton V10 engine and gave the cutaway a 7.3-liter Godzilla V8 instead, which is shared with Ford Super Duty trucks. Because some applications require more low-end torque, that engine is available in two variations. Its Economy-Tune version develops 300 hp and 425 lb-ft of torque, while the Premium calibration puts out 350 hp and 468 lb-ft at 3,900 rpm, which is better for hauling in stop-and-go traffic. The Godzilla V8 uses the same 6-speed TorqShift automatic transmission as the outgoing engine. This year’s E-Series is equipped with an upgraded electrical system featuring heavy-duty parts, including a standard 210-amp alternator.
Buyers can choose from single and dual rear wheel configurations as well as three wheelbase length options measuring 138, 158, and 176 inches. The E-350 Cutaway offers a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating of 10,050 pounds when fitted with single rear wheels and from 11,500 to 12,500 pounds with duallies on the rear axle. Its payload capability varies depending on the configuration and accessories and tops out at 7,210 pounds. The E-450 comes exclusively with dually wheels and features a 14,500-pound max GVWR. Regardless of the version you own, our 2021 Ford E-Series parts and accessories inventory covers all your servicing and upfitting needs. This year’s E-Series comes with a revised exterior featuring redesigned headlights and a new chrome grille. The design of the interior is heavily influenced by that of the Super Duty. The new E-Series offers a variety of driver assist systems, albeit as options. These include adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, and many more.
