Wheel Adapters

Wheel adapters exist to allow the magic of transformation from one bolt pattern to another without any modification to your hub assembly to happen. This is necessary when you need or want to install aftermarket rims that feature the right diameter and width, yet have a different bolt pattern. Wheel adapters mount directly to your hubs with the lug nuts or bolts you’ve used to install your existing wheels, providing a mounting area for your new aftermarket rims, while giving you some extra offset to accommodate wider rims and tires for a more performance ride.

Contrary to popular belief, wheel adapters are not the same as wheel spacers. While wheel adapters do increase the offset, the main purpose they serve is to allow you to put wheels with another bolt pattern. Unlike wheel spacers that simply fit between hubs and wheels, and do not require any additional hardware to install, wheel adapters must be secured to your hubs first with your existing lug nuts. When mounted, wheel adapters must completely hide your factory studs so they cannot interfere with your new aftermarket wheels to ensure their proper installation and a safe driving experience.

Due to the specifics of their installation, wheel adapters have a significant thickness, which brings several benefits to the table, yet provides a couple of drawbacks. By mounting wheel adapters you can considerably increase your backspacing, which makes it possible to install upsized rims and tires along with larger brake calipers to improve your performance, handling and stopping power. At the same time, the remarkable thickness of wheel adapters means an increase in the weight of your wheel hub assemblies, and therefore, it may affect your acceleration and fuel consumption. That’s why the majority of high-quality wheel adapters are manufactured from very durable yet lightweight corrosion-resistant materials such as high-grade aluminum and magnesium alloys.
