In 1968, along with the move to a large, state-of-the-art facility at 420 E. Terra Cotta Avenue, Mr. Knaack purchased the WEATHER GUARD Truck Equipment.

WEATHER GUARD's truck tool box line included about 10 different models that were built until 1971, when KNAACK advanced its manufacturing process to innovate, design and develop products with exclusive features the contractors were after. The first ever system to clean steel and an oven for baking enamel paint needed on the WEATHER GUARD boxes were added. In 1973, the line of WEATHER GUARD tool boxes was completely redesigned. Meticulous attention to detail along with strict quality control put in every tool box design paid off, as many of these innovations became the industry benchmarks.
