Variant Alloy Wheels take great pride in their products and understand the name "Variant" is quite literally attached to every wheel that leaves the facility. From the time a design is conceived until an actual wheel reaches your hands, it undergoes very stringent phases of quality control to meet Variant elevated demands. From the beginning, it was set out to produce products that reflect prominent levels of excellence. All Variant Alloy Wheels are tested in-house to meet the highly JWL and VIA certifications. “The JWL standard (Japan Light Alloy Wheel standard) is a set of requirements for alloy wheels set by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (Japan) that must be met for all passenger cars in Japan. The JWL mark, cast or forged into the wheel, indicates that the wheel has been self-certified by its manufacturer to meet the standard. The Vehicle Inspection Association of Japan (VIA) independently tests wheels for JWL compliance. Wheels that have been tested will bear the VIA mark in addition to the JWL mark.”
To pass JWL and VIA certifications wheels must pass radial, bend and impact testing, the finished result is what ends up on your vehicle. Start to finish each and every Variant wheel goes through 3 additional levels of QC inspections to ensure you are receiving only the finest alloy wheels we have to offer. This process begins with a visual inspection of every wheel during the various stages of production. Upon entering the hand de-burring and brushing stations each wheel enters our state of the art Helium Leak Testing, followed by its final finish being applied.
The last and final stage of quality control, each wheel is spun with a dial indicator used to inspect wheel run-out tolerances, verifying that they are within our allowed range of 0.022. The process of building and manufacturing wheels is done by many and upholding strict quality standards is done by very few. Variant Alloy Wheels guarantees a superior product compared to those in the same marketplace. Thank you for choosing Variant and we hope you enjoy your new wheels as much as we enjoyed creating them for you.
