Galleon Truck Rack (82610310) by U.S. RACK®. Finish: Brushed Silver. Material: Aluminum/ Stainless Steel. For Cabs Over 24". Add versatility to your truck with the Galleon Truck Rack by U.S. Rack. This stake pocket mounted truck rack is not just a lumber rack, ladder rack, kayak rack, or canoe rack. It is also a truck tonneau rack. Manufactured from superior-grade aluminum and featuring steel base and connectors, this rack is lightweight yet has a load carrying capacity of 500 lbs. It mounts and removes in less than 10 minutes without drilling after the initial assembly.
Whether you want to bring ladders and lumber to the jobsite or carry sports equipment for your outdoor adventures, this top-notch Galleon Truck Rack by U.S. Rack is for you. But it’s not just a versatile rack. It’s a truck tonneau rack that installs in the stake pockets of your truck in less than 10 minutes after the initial assembly. You have to place inserts into truck stake pockets, install bases and tighten draw bolts, and then just mount the rest of the rack. The standard Galleon rack will work only with roll-up tonneau covers that do not cover the stake pocket holes. If you have a Bak-Flip or other sectional tonneau cover that folds up, then the extra-wide Galleon rack with straight legs is the way to go. The top of the extra-wide rack is also about 6 inches wider than the standard rack.
The Galleon rack is perfect if you need some additional length for long cargo. The overall length of the rack is 8.5 feet as measured from the tailgate. The length of the portion of the rack extending over the cab depends upon how long your truck bed is. The rack features a functional and dynamically stable design because the weight rests on the bed rails instead of flimsy stake pockets. It has a steel base and connectors that are first zinc-plated to ensure outstanding corrosion resistance and then powdercoated in a silvery aluminum color along with other parts of the rack. Threaded hardware is stainless steel for maximum dependability. Designed with aerodynamics in mind, the rack boasts oval-shaped, extruded aluminum legs, side rails, and crossbars. Such a design helps reduce drag and noise, allowing for a comfortable driving experience.
U.S. RACK® began in a garage in Silicon Valley. The company’s founder, Chris Green, removed his welded rack off his pickup and found out that he had a sore back and no place to store the bulky rack. He wanted to create a rack that could clamp onto a truck and be stored easily when not in use. Determined to make sure that his designs were sturdy and safe, Chris initially worked with a university engineering department and later with an independent engineering lab to load-test components and products. In 2000, he set up a small shop to manufacture the first production racks and in 2003 built the larger manufacturing plant in Madera, Ca. U.S. Rack is still a small business but now manufactures over 40 different models of racks to satisfy every need for both work and play. Whether you need a rack to carry your bike, kayak, canoe, or any other cargo, the company has you covered.
