The U.S. Rack Clipper Truck Rack is the perfect solution for those looking to transport cargo safely. It is specifically designed to be strong yet lightweight. The rack bases, as well as the gusset hardware that connects the components, are fabricated from stainless/mild steel while the legs and crossbars are brushed aluminum. As a result, the rack weighs only about 50 lbs but has a load capacity of 400 lbs. What’s more, it is versatile enough to haul building materials or carry ladders, kayaks, canoes, and a rooftop tent. It can even be loaded with a forklift! The crossbars are engineered with functionality and aerodynamics in mind. The top of the crossbars is flat to gently support cargo while the front and rear are rounded for better airflow.
The Clipper Truck Rack has been specifically designed for the Jeep Gladiator and fits trucks with both conventional bed rails and track systems. A sophisticated installation system holds the rack securely in place and allows for fast, no-drill installation. You can also remove the rack when it’s not needed. And since this rack easily disassembles, it can be stored in a compact space. Each section of the rack is independent, which allows for the uprights to be moved anywhere along the bed rails. To help you securely tie down your cargo with ratchet straps, each rack has tie-down eyelets located at the base of each leg and the end of each crossbar. Optional rope cleats are also available for mounting on the legs.
U.S. RACK® began in a garage in Silicon Valley. The company’s founder, Chris Green, removed his welded rack off his pickup and found out that he had a sore back and no place to store the bulky rack. He wanted to create a rack that could clamp onto a truck and be stored easily when not in use. Determined to make sure that his designs were sturdy and safe, Chris initially worked with a university engineering department and later with an independent engineering lab to load-test components and products. In 2000, he set up a small shop to manufacture the first production racks and in 2003 built the larger manufacturing plant in Madera, Ca. U.S. Rack is still a small business but now manufactures over 40 different models of racks to satisfy every need for both work and play. Whether you need a rack to carry your bike, kayak, canoe, or any other cargo, the company has you covered.
