When coming off the throttle, large diesel engines with turbochargers can experience compressor surge caused by a restriction on the outlet of the turbocharger in the result of the deceleration of the engine. This can be disastrous on the turbo system which is producing high amounts of boost. The BOV controller has been designed to vent this build up of pressure protecting the turbocharger from numerous repairs and improving acceleration between gears.
This electronic device controls the pressure signal to the BOV. When it detects a negative voltage change in throttle position, it energises a solenoid to vent the air out of the BOV cap causing a pressure differential between the piston of the BOV and the cap which vents pressure from the intake system. The solenoid will reactivate when the BOV controller reads positive throttle movement to close the BOV and pressurize the intake system. This kit is perfect for use in diesel and petrol engines. It comes with the premium controller and everything required to install it.
