When you do a lot of off-road wheeling it's a matter of when, not if you'll get stuck, but it's no problem when you have a winch. But what if there's no convenient anchor point around to attach your winch cable? When you carry a WASP with you, you'll always have an anchor point, no matter the type of terrain. The WASP has a solid breaker head that can break through the toughest ground. It looks similar to a plow, but unlike a plow the WASP is not designed to go through the dirt but rather to stick in one place, providing an anchor support platform for winching.
The WASP works in mud, snow, and rocky or loose gravel. It has 3 settings for all possible soil conditions and is completely adjustable. The WASP is designed to work fine on its own, but greater performance can be achieved with another person standing behind the anchor holding the handle to make sure the anchor is pulled into the soil at the correct angle. A 4.5-ton D-ring is included for a winch cable attachment, and the handle features an ergonomic grip.
Completely collapsible for compact storage, the WASP comes with a storage bag to make it easy to include on any off-road adventure. Detailed, illustrated instructions are provided to guide you with WASP use, and it's backed by a limited 5-year warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.
Smittybilt®, located in Compton, California, is the leader in the off-road parts and accessories market because they were there at its inception. Founder Basil Smith, also known as "Smitty", was one of the original Southern California 4WD enthusiasts. He started a business called Rock-ett Products, making specialized equipment for trucks and Jeeps, in his garage/machine shop in 1956. Smitty's son Tom began working at Rock-ett at an early age and became head of the ever-expanding enterprise when it became Smittybilt in the 1970s. Under Tom's leadership, the company created innovative products like the original "Nerf Bar" side step, and tubular front and rear bumpers for Jeeps. Today, thanks to their continued involvement in off-roading at all levels of the staff, which enables them to keep abreast of the latest trends and needs in the off-road market, Smittybilt remains the industry leader with a selection of over 2000 different products for trucks and SUVs.
