Features

  • Expertly crafted from premium materials
  • Designed to match rigorous quality standards
  • High quality at a budget-friendly price

Any veteran off-roader knows that it's not a matter of if you'll get stuck, but when. And when you're trying to get yourself or somebody else's rig out of a fix, the difference between a long, tedious recovery and a hassle-free smooth operation often comes down to the quality of your equipment. If you're Smittybilt equipped, you'll be able to handle any situation.

Smittybilt has roller fairleads that mount directly to all standard winch mounting plates, in both standard and low-profile versions, and both will reduce excessive wear on your winch cable. And if you're required to run a front license plate in your state, Smittybilt even has a plate holder that clips right to the fairlead. Run a synthetic rope instead of a cable? Smittybilt has hawse fairleads manufactured from solid billet aluminum and polished to a mirror finish.

A snatch block pulley will greatly increase the usefulness of your winch, and Smittybilt has a selection of capacities. A snatch block pulley can be used to redirect the angle of the pull, such as would be necessary if you're pulling at an angle to the winch and you want to make sure the winch cable spools onto the drum evenly. It can also be used to create a double line pull and effectively increase the capacity of your winch.

Smittybilt has straps of every size, length and capacity, and for every need, including snatch straps for when extra strength is needed, and pull straps for extra leverage unspooling your winch. When you need to activate your winch from a distance, Smittybilt is there with handy remote controls, and when your winch is not in use, protect it from the elements with a Smittybilt winch cover.

Smittybilt®, located in Compton, California, is the leader in the off-road parts and accessories market because they were there at its inception. Founder Basil Smith, also known as "Smitty", was one of the original Southern California 4WD enthusiasts. He started a business called Rock-ett Products, making specialized equipment for trucks and Jeeps, in his garage/machine shop in 1956. Smitty's son Tom began working at Rock-ett at an early age and became head of the ever-expanding enterprise when it became Smittybilt in the 1970s. Under Tom's leadership, the company created innovative products like the original "Nerf Bar" side step, and tubular front and rear bumpers for Jeeps. Today, thanks to their continued involvement in off-roading at all levels of the staff, which enables them to keep abreast of the latest trends and needs in the off-road market, Smittybilt remains the industry leader with a selection of over 2000 different products for trucks and SUVs.

Smittybilt Winch Cover
Winch cover was at the right price, looks good; installation was just sliding the cover over the winch and tightening the strings. So far it has stayed put. Only complaint -- for the price of the winch, the cover should have come with it. I put the control box on top of the winch (rather than the side). The cover would probably fit better with the box to the side, but I prefer the box where it is.
