Engine Adapter Ring by Sir Tools®. For the budget minded Prosche and VW air-cooled engine rebuilder, Sir Tools offers an "Adapter Ring". This Adapter ring is the same as the one equipped on the factory style Engine Holding Fixture, part no. P201. It is void however, of anyholding or securing tubes. This Adapter Ring is specifically designed to mate the engine case straightto any universal engine stand, using four 3/8" bolts. Thus,allowing for a full 360O degree rotation of the motor. ThisAdapter Ring is designed to bolt up to every Porsche andVW fully dressed air-cooled engine ever produced. It ismachined with all the necessary reliefs and/ornotches to allow for clearance of all engineparts, including the flywheel and itsrespective lock tool, Part no. 215.

Sir Tools® was founded by John Sir in 1974. Four years earlier, John entered the automotive field, purchasing a gas and service station in Long Island, N.Y. In between repairing many VW air-cooled vehicles, he designed and produced several special service tools for his own personal use. At that time, special service tools for German vehicles were not readily available within the U.S. By 1973, John had designed and manufactured an extensive variety of special service tools. Tool Distributors making their weekly rounds were amazed at the vastness of John's tool collection. Tool Distributors finally convinced John to manufacture his tool designs for them. In 1974 John Sir left the gas station business and established Sir Tools. With nearly four decades of Sir Tools in service, the company continues to invent, develop and manufacture some of the most popular special service tools on the market.
