Originally an entry-level compact car by Pontiac, the Tempest was first moved off the lot in 1960. Early Tempests were based upon the Y platform shared with the Olds Cutlass and Buick Special. The first generation featured an innovative rear transaxle configuration, which in combination with the front engine allowed for an almost perfectly balanced 50/50 weight distribution. 1964 marked the second generation, which was substantially redesigned and moved to the A-body platform. The new Pontiac Tempest was enlarged and moved to the mid-size segment. The unibody construction and unusual drivetrain were superseded with a traditional body-on-frame design with front-mounted engine, front transmission, as well as frame and solid rear axle configuration implemented in almost all other GM cars.

After the 1970 model year, the car was withdrawn from the U.S. market, replaced with the Le Mans. Though between 1987 and 1991 (3rd generation), this name was used for the rebranded Chevy Corsica available exclusively in Canada. Whether you are driving a classic Tempest of the 1960s or one of the later variants, some of its body parts may need to be replaced due to age and years of exposure to water, snow, salt, road debris, etc. We are here to help you out, carrying Pontiac Tempest body parts designed with OE precision and reliability in mind. Whether you need a door skin, a bumper, or some window components to restore the great looks and function of your car, be sure to find what you’re looking for here!
