Attached to the rear end of the trunk lid, a rear spoiler redirects the airflow around the vehicle body to reduce drag and turbulence for better fuel efficiency and top-end speed and, at the same time, prevent the rear of the vehicle from lifting. Many people use the term "spoiler" interchangeably with the term "wing". But spoilers and wings are different things. Instead of going underneath your car, the high-pressure air is forced upwards where it travels around the sides and the roof. This creates a low-pressure area underneath the vehicle and a high-pressure area above it, which significantly reduces lift.
