The Mitsubishi Tredia was a middle-size sedan created on the basis of the popular Mitsubishi Cordia’s platform in 1982. The Mitsubishi Tredia was the first car that Mitsubishi company exported to the US without the help of the Chrysler corporation. The Mitsubishi Tredia had a classic Mazda design, which at that time was common for a lot of Japanese models. In particular, the Tredia’s exterior resembled the one of the Mitsubishi Galant sedan. The engines used on Tredia cars varied in capacity from 1.6 to 2.0 liters, and the most powerful engine of this lineup, a 2.0L one, was capable of producing 110 hp. The Tredia could accelerate from zero to 62 mph in 11.2 seconds, and the maximum speed of the 2.0 L engine version was 112 mph. Simple yet distinct and appealing, the Mitsubishi Tredia had been a pretty good seller for Mitsubishi, but eventually it was discontinued in 1990.
