Product Details
Ball Joint by Lemfoerder®. Ball joints are used in tie rods, control arms and stabilizer links, for instance. A ball joint consists of a supporting joint and ball stud and is free-moving in three directions. Traction forces, compressive forces and radial forces are transferred in these three directions with hardly any losses at all. Minor losses occur as a result of friction. Therefore, Lemfoerder uses premium materials for the ball and shell. The exact designation of the ball joints is derived from the transferred direction of force: Angle joints transfer radial forces, axial joints transfer axial forces.

ZF Friedrichshafen AG acquired the tradition-steeped group of companies comprising Lemfoerder® Metallwaren AG and Lemfoerder Metallwaren J. Ulderup AG & Co, headquartered in the northern German town of Lemfoerder in 1984. The logo with the owl (as well as three tie rods originally) has hardly changed since the Lemfoerder Metallwaren-Gesellschaft mbH was founded in 1947 and is still a guarantee of quality. The idea to incorporate an owl arose from the name of the company’s founder, Ulderup – “Ule” is the Low German word for owl.
