Leaf spring suspension is old technology, and leaves have been supplanted by modern multi-link systems with coil springs on most late-model cars. But they were original equipment on many performance cars in the past, and some fine handling sports cars still use transverse leaf springs made of advanced composite material. And of course, with their excellent load carrying capabilities they remain the springs of choice for truck rear suspension.

The most common symptom of worn springs and reason for spring replacement is incorrect vehicle ride height. Sagging springs and/or bent or broken leaves will lower the chassis of the vehicle at one end or even one corner of the vehicle, which can result in bottoming out, poor handling and abnormal tire wear. Vehicle manufacturers publish ride height specifications. Measure the ride height at the recommended locations and compare the measurement with specs. Along with checking the springs for cracks and missing or broken leaves, the shackles, spring eye bushings, hangers, U-bolts and pins should also be inspected for wear, looseness and damage as these can also cause incorrect ride height, poor handling and noise.

If measurement and inspection proves your springs are in need of replacement, we have the original equipment specification leaf springs that will restore ride height and ride quality. Plus, no matter whether you’re repairing a daily driver or restoring a classic, we also have all the parts you need for a complete repair and to make sure the spring is mounted properly – spring eye and shackle bushings, complete shackle and spring hanger assemblies, U-bolt kits, plates and spring pads, and much more. And if you need to haul heavier cargo in your pickup, we have helper springs in a wide range of load capacities. They’re designed to be used with your OE springs and won’t adversely affect ride when you’re driving unloaded.

Whether you want to lift or lower your ride, or improve its performance or load capacity, we have the performance leaf springs and related components for the job. While truck owners certainly want their vehicles to handle, pickups were primarily designed for carrying cargo in the bed. Many cars, which don’t carry heavy loads, use single leafs. To increase spring rate, to carry more weight, trucks have springs composed of several leaves, stacked up. If the back of your pickup is sagging, we can supply you with new springs to restore ride height, ride quality and original weight carrying capacity, but if you want to further increase load capacity you have several options. Add-a-leaf kits are the economical way to increase ride height and spring rate without replacing the entire spring. But while this choice will enable your truck to carry more weight, it will also result in a stiffer ride.

But not everyone wants to lift a vehicle; some want the “slammed” look and if that’s you we’ve got you covered. There are many ways to lower a leaf-spring vehicle and we offer several choices including flat and tapered lowering block kits that include new U-bolts, as well as lowering shackles. The best way to lower your leaf spring suspended car or truck is with our lowering springs. They have less arch than OE springs to provide the lowered ride height you want, but with a higher spring rate to improve handling and prevent bottoming out. They’re available for late model cars and trucks as well as many classic muscle cars, in a range of drops. These springs will not only give your ride the stance you want, but they’ll also make it handle better and minimize axle wrap and wheel hop.
