Unlike other forms of exhaust pipe wraps, the Inferno Header Wrap is manufactured from texturized amorphous silica filament yarn; this makes this wrap strong and flexible while operating at its designed service temp of 2000°F continuous and 3000°F intermittent. There is not a header or exhaust insulating wrap on the market that will take higher temperatures and last longer. Inferno header wrap maintains hotter exhaust gases, decreases the density, and that allows the exhaust gas to exit the system faster! Increased exhaust scavenging is produced helping to lower intake temperatures: that equals more horsepower. Inferno Wrap also reduces radiant heat from exhaust pipes by as much as 50%. Inferno Wrap can be fastened with Thermal-Tie, hose clamps, or wire.

How exhaust insulation works:
By wrapping a motorcycle exhaust pipe with an exhaust insulation you reduce how much heat can radiate from an exhaust header pipe and exhaust tubing. You are retaining the thermal energy inside the exhaust system, this reduces the gas density. Thinner exhaust gas, improves exhaust gas velocity inside your exhaust system. This creates a scavenging effect that pulls intake gases through the system quicker, which helps to lower intake
temperatures, creating more power. Tests have shown that header-pipe wrap can reduce exhaust pipe temperatures by as much as 50 percent.
Exhaust pipe insulation benefits:
Handling improvements are another added bonus to motorcycle header wrap in some cases. Retaining heat in the exhaust can prevent it from radiating out into a shock or shock reservoir. This helps to keep the gas cooler inside the shock, resulting in improved handling over longer rides and drives! Many Rzr see a shock fade, our UTV heat shield kit is your cure.
Many sport bikes have air boxes in close proximity to exhaust heat. Reducing heat radiating into the air box reduces air intake temps – increasing performance.
Keeping the heat inside the pipe with our motorcycle exhaust wrap can protect a rider’s and passenger's legs from heat. In a UTV there is a personal comfort benefit as well. Less heat radiating from the exhaust system can significantly reduce the heat on the firewall and floorplans, resulting in less heat in the passenger compartment.
