Exhaust Tips

Exhaust Tips

Exhaust tips are usually the only visible part of an exhaust system. They can be the finishing touch on aftermarket performance exhaust systems, usually made of polished stainless steel and featuring the name of the exhaust manufacturer, but they also come factory installed on many cars and trucks. However, any car buff would agree that a gleaming exhaust tip can be an appearance upgrade for any vehicle, and much better looking than a rusty tail pipe. We have a wide variety of shapes, sizes and finishes, including the style that is perfect for your car, truck or SUV.

Performance exhaust systems generally come with pretty nice exhaust tip(s), but if you have other ideas about style and finish you don’t have to settle for what came in the box. Ditto if you’re not thrilled with your OE tips. We have dozens of styles to choose from constructed from stainless steel, chrome plated or aluminized steel and aluminum billet, in polished, brushed, black, and even flame and logo finishes. The exhaust tip attachment methods include clamp-on, clampless, weld-on and set screw. We have exhaust tips for every taste and every size exhaust pipe.

You’ll find many traditional styles on our digital shelves including round, round with a rolled edge, angle cut (also known as slash cut), turn down, square, rectangular, and rectangular slash cut. Some are called “intercooled”, or double walled, and the outer wall of these tips will not discolor from heat. If you’re more adventurous, try a half moon, cone, or dual tips with various ends, including dual split oval. For a really different look, consider square, slash cut aluminum billet tips with ball milled designs, including flames and vehicle manufacturers’ logos. But if you like the appearance of factory style tips, particularly if you have a classic performance or muscle car and value originality, we also offer OE style and reproduction exhaust tips that are correct in every detail.

Most of our exhaust tips are made from the finest quality T304 stainless steel. This durable metal has a high chromium and nickel content, which makes it highly resistant to rust and corrosion, so it will stay looking good for as long as you own your car or truck. Most think it looks best when it’s polished, but brushed finishes are also popular. Flamed polished tips are perfect for a hot rod, or for a very distinctive look, install our heat treated black stainless steel tips. For an exclusive look that’s the perfect finishing touch on thoroughbred sports cars, go for our titanium exhaust tips with burnt (blued) finish. An economical, but attractive and durable exhaust tip alternative is aluminized steel.

Along with selecting style and material, you can also decide how your exhaust tip is attached. For a clean, smooth look many prefer a welded tip, because no clamp or attachment is visible. But if you don’t have the equipment to weld or don’t want the permanence of a welded attachment, consider a tip that is clamped on or held on with a set screw. Some clamps are integral with the tip and still other tips are “clampless”. Clampless tips are secured simply with a nut and bolt. Tips that don’t require welding can be installed right out of the box, so you can be enjoying your car or truck’s new look right away, plus with this type of attachment you can easily change exhaust tips in the future if you find a style or finish you like better.
