Save on the cost of buying separate parts with this quality Greenstuff 2000 sport brake pad and rotor kit which includes pads, RK rotors and caliper lube.
If you desire a modest brake improvement for normal speeds this kit will be your best choice. High efficiency EBC brake pads built with aramid fiber, fully shimmed, slotted and chamfered and featuring the EBC patented Brake-in™ coating for fast pad seating after install. Rotors are a direct fit OEM replacement with “thermic black” anti rust surface coating, fully balanced and runout tested for smooth braking.
Outside these sources where castings or finished rotors have to be bought in to complement the range, the strictest quality controls are applied to ensure the safety and quality of the parts we sell. We source only highest quality parts from well known and proven OEM manufacturer vendors and we are responsible for and guarantee those parts to fit and perform as expected. All suppliers of castings for the EBC group are ISO approved to the highest specification and have been visited and approved by the German TUV authorities.
EBC then adds value to its products by strictest quality controls and specifications and a 100% run out and dimensional check, including element analysis, surface finish and hardness tests on every batch and runout inspection . All sport rotors are slotted and grooved at the Las Vegas facility of the USA operation or at our new Northampton rotor facility employing 32 staff which has recently been enhanced to have its own QC department, machining and testing facilities and a new Nitrotherm anti corrosion coating plant. We also do all we can to embrace US employment and in our US facilities we employ 14 people in our rotor machining facility alone.
EBC Automotive brake rotors are made from G3000 spec cast iron and full specifications and properties can be seen here! Runout figures above this will lead to vibration after 3000 to 4000 miles due to what we call disc thickness variation which is not a warranty condition. So you see this is no cheap import brake disc. These brake discs have the highest integrity and product quality on the aftermarket. An OE quality replacement disc, made of the finest grade iron and a perfect replacement disc for any car.
Every EBC rotor is runout inspected on this machine. Even when manufactured on state of the art precision machines, not even ONE single disc escapes this process guaranteeing perfect disc alignment. If during install you notice runout on your car it will surely be due to a chassis alignment that happens on one in seven cars, usually cased by nudging a kerb or hitting a pothole in the road earlier in driving the vehicle.
You would never fit upgraded pads in the front without also upgrading the rears. You would never fit braided brake lines on the front without also fitting them to the rear. So why have ‘big brake kits’ been sold as front or rear only kits for years? The EBC approach is simple, whenever upgrading the front, you must also upgrade the rear. That’s why every EBC front kit is additionally supplied with matching friction rear pads and braided stainless rear brake lines, at no extra cost to you.
One in seven cars suffers geometry problems during its life that can affect steering and cause brake vibration. These are NOT a product quality issue! These can happen by simply nudging a kerb or by driving over a pothole. EBC is not alone in recognising this problem but is the only brake supplier on the planet prepared to offer diagnosis and a solutions.
These cause what is known as DTV. The videos below show how to correct for brake vibration caused by DTV (Disc thickness variation). DTV develops in a car after 3000-4000 miles caused by runout built in to the car or due to incorrect alignment of the rotors at install. This is quite a common fault on modern cars and many cars require this at every rotor change. drivers also confuse hub distortion with a rotor quality issue but in 99% of cases the dtv is a car problem, not a rotor quality problem. you can replace the rotors as many times as you like trying to solve vibration and the problem will only go away for a few thousand miles and then return. this means you have purchased new rotors in good faith but the problem is not solved and will not go away permanently until you perform this procedure. after this skimming of the rotor surface you will have smooth brakes , more effective brakes and zero vibration. it is even a very worthwhile practice when fitting new rotors to have all four rotors skimmed into perfect alignment on your car with this inexpensive procedure.
Rotor distortion due to DTV is very common, in fact one in seven cars has a steering geometry problem either when it is built new or after nudging a kerb or hitting a large pothole. Uneducated people still say “My rotors are warped”. Well the engineering facts are rotors do not warp, they are made of cast iron, they are very tough and can be run to red heat and cooled time after time and they will not distort, we do this day in day out on our dynos in the EBC lab. Thats why the whole world still uses cast iron as a vehicle brake rotor material, there has never been anything to beat it and probably never will be. Pro Cut machines Work on both plain rotors and even better on slotted and drilled rotors of all types.
Pro Cut are a USA based multi national and extremely professional Corporation. Their machines are used and approved by many major car manufacturers and used all over the world to do exactly what they do best, correct for rotor mis-alignment no matter how it arises on a car. You cannot achieve this with any other device.
Since EBC Brakes launched its sport range in 1997 EBC Greenstuff™ brake pads have sold well over four million sets of performance automotive brakes all over the world and have become the number one selling EBC sport pad.
Greenstuff™ has once again pushed the performance barriers of organic friction materials. The latest version of Greenstuff™ brake pads are a deliberately softer compound to improve pedal feel on lighter cars at lower speeds. This resulted in a medium dust material with good lifetime and minimal rotor wear. Tests at the UK MIRA Motor Vehicle Research Institute have shown a version of Greenstuff™ to stop a car almost 20 feet quicker than original parts on a popular hot hatch braking from 60 MPH offering a huge 15% brake improvement. It is essential to note that EBC offer three ranges of Greenstuff™ brake pads, engineered for each application.
EBC Greenstuff™ has a high initial brake effect and gives drivers confidence from first application of the brake pedal. There is no such thing as a no dust pad. The very nature of how a brake works requires that some dust be generated to avoid rotor vibration (shimmying). The EBC pad creates less dust and dust is more easily washed off than most. All pads create more dust as they are bedding in especially if rotors are worn. Nominal friction coefficient 0.55. For heavier faster cars we strongly recommend Redstuff which does offer much less dust.
