The Short Version: TSW just released its new TW004 Canard wheels. Made from aluminum alloy using flow form construction, these are lighter and stronger than regular cast aluminum. The Canards are available in 19- and 20-inch diameters, and pricing ranges from $320 to $350 each at CARiD.

As almost any automotive enthusiast can tell you, a new set of wheels is one of the best mods you can do. Wheels instantly change the look of a car truck and allow you to add your own style to it, not to mention the increased performance from stronger, lightweight construction. That’s where aluminum alloy comes in. Adding another option to the aftermarket wheel industry, TSW just released its newest design: the Canard.

The Canard is a lightweight aluminum alloy wheel made using flow form construction. This manufacturing process involves applying pressure to the inside of the barrel while spinning it at high speeds, increasing its tensile strength relative to cast aluminum wheels.

This TSW model is available in 19- or 20-inch diameters, with widths ranging from 8.5 to 10.5 inches. Depending on the size, the Canards can support 1,375 to 1,800 pounds each, meaning they will work with most cars or SUVs on the market, even some EVs. Despite their strength, the Canards range from just 23.37 to 25.79 pounds each, lightweight for wheels of this size. For comparison, 20-inch cast aluminum wheels typically weigh around 30 pounds or more.

All that said, most people, even enthusiasts, don’t buy wheels purely based on how strong they are or how much they weigh. The majority of car people buy wheels because they like how they look, and I’m a big fan of the Canard’s design.

A simple, wideset 10-spoke design coupled with a concave face gives these wheels a clean look that will work on many makes and models. They’re also available in three popular finish options: matte black, gloss black with a machined face, and gloss silver with a machined face.

Various sizes and offsets are available, and they’re made to fit 5x112, 5x114.3, or 5x120 bolt patterns, which takes care of the vast majority of cars on the road with five-lug wheels. The TSW Canard’s are available to buy now at CARiD, with prices starting at $320 each on the 19-inch diameters, and $350 each on the 20-inchers.
