The Short Version: American Racing just released the new Marauder VN517 wheels designed for classic muscle cars. With a timeless five-spoke design and cast aluminum construction, the wheels are relatively lightweight and will fit on most 5-lug muscle cars. 18- through 20-inch diameters are available now, and prices range from $275 to $600 per wheel.

Tomorrow is the 4th of July and few things scream “America” quite like the muscle cars of the ‘60s and ‘70s. Just in time to celebrate Independence Day with some burnouts in a classic Mustang or Camaro, American Racing released the Marauder VN517 wheels. Inspired by the pony cars of old, these wheels offer vintage style to go along with modern performance.

The five-spoke wheels mimic the factory options that American automakers have been using for half a century, and the flat face sits back thanks to a stepped lip, creating that deep dish look enthusiasts love. The Marauders come with three available finishes designed to pay tribute to the old days: gloss black/machined, anthracite, and of course, chrome.

Made from cast aluminum, these wheels are lightweight, but they still offer plenty of strength, with each one supporting up to 1,900 pounds. The VN517s are available in 18-, 20-, and 22-inch diameters with 8- to 10-inch widths. Made to fit most classic muscle cars, they’re available in 5x120.65, 5x127, and 5x139.7 bolt patterns, with backspacing ranging from 4.50 to 5.74 inches.

Prices start at $275 for select 18-inch options and go up to $600 for some of the 22-inch diameters, with the chrome finish being the most expensive option. The Marauder wheels fall in line with other similar options in terms of price, like the Foose F105 which costs $377 each. That said, American Racing itself has some much cheaper options, with the Torq Thrust classic five-spoke wheel starting at just $157 a piece.

As someone who has owned multiple Mustangs in my day, I’m a bit partial to the classic five-spoke design, so the Marauder VN517s caught my eye. Combined with the Independence Day timing and reasonable pricing for the segment, these seem like a solid option to throw on a classic car and cruise around all summer long.
