The Short Version: The Romik Action Slide is hitting the market this fall, and it’s set to make truck slides more accessible than ever. Its modular design makes it easier to ship and install for DIYers and it’s loaded with cool features. Prices will start at $1,437 and it fits most Chevrolet, Dodge, Ford, GMC, Jeep, Nissan, Ram, and Toyota trucks.

Storage solutions are truck enthusiasts’ best friends. Whether you’re loading up the bed for a weekend camping trip, building the overlanding rig of your dreams, or using your truck as a workhorse on the job site, easy access to what’s in the bed is a game changer. That’s where a truck bed slide comes in, and the new Action Slide from Romik might be one of the best options out there when it hits shelves this fall, competing with brands like BedSlide and CargoGlide.

One of the biggest issues with truck slides is that they’re too big and heavy for DIYers to have shipped and installed. With the Action Slide’s modular construction, Romik sought to tackle this problem by shipping it in three boxes. According to the manufacturer, Action Slide will be the world’s first option that can be delivered by FedEx or UPS rather than truck freight, a huge benefit to enthusiasts.

Designed to fit most Chevrolet, Dodge, Ford, GMC, Jeep, Nissan, Ram, and Toyota trucks, Action Slide comes in sizes ranging from 56x41 to 95x48 inches. The slide comes with six or eight mounting points in the bed depending on size, and eight ball bearings ensure smooth operation, even when loaded down with up to 1,200 pounds. It can be opened to 70 percent of its length, making it easy to reach stuff loaded all the way up by the cabin.

The decking of the slide is weatherproof and the panels are replaceable if anything happens. Each unit comes with six aluminum D-ring tie-downs for maximum storage, and the Ambi-Release handle can be set up for left- or right-handers. Romik also included a built-in bottle opener on the back, perfect for weekends with the boys (or girls).

The company is working on a few more optional mods for the slide, including a Milwaukee Pack Out side mount, an overlanding refrigerator slide, a Du-Ha gun caddy mount, and a bicycle mount. I’m imagining an overlanding rig decked out with this whole setup, and I think it’s all going to be pretty sweet once it hits the streets
