Meguiar’s has released a new formula for its Hybrid Ceramic Wash & Wax, providing detailers and enthusiasts alike with a new way to keep their rides clean. While nothing compares to a full clay bar detail and paint correction finished off with a real ceramic coating, a 2-in-1 wash and wax like this can do some of the work in a fraction of the time.
Made for both at-home DIYers and pros, this cleaner works with a bucket and sponge or a foam cannon by just adding water. With a foam cannon, the company suggests six parts water per one part cleaner. If using a bucket and sponge, Meguiar’s recommends mixing two ounces of the wash and wax for every gallon of water.
This cleaner uses foaming action to cover the entirety of a car’s exterior and remove dirt and debris from the paint. As it washes and gets rinsed off, a hybrid ceramic coating is left behind, leaving a protective film on the paint that’s safe for high-gloss and clear coat. This integrated ceramic coating is hydrophobic, causing water to bead up on the surface, making it easier to rinse off and dry after the wash. The coating also helps prevent water spots and dirt from latching onto the paint. That said, this cleaner is no substitute for regular waxing or a real ceramic coating, and this should not be the only protection used for a vehicle’s paint.
While the new Wash & Wax helps take care of the outside, Meguiar’s also just released a new all-surface interior cleaner that’s designed to take care of every surface in the cabin, from rubber and vinyl to leather and carpet.
