The Short Version: Ford just announced the fifth Bronco Off-Roadeo training location in Tennessee, putting 80 percent of Bronco owners within 500 miles of the hands-on class. The Bronco Off-Roadeo program provides a full day of classroom instruction and a guided off-road adventure to certain Bronco owners for free, and non-owning enthusiasts can join the fun with a paid four-hour course.

In an effort to help new Bronco owners get the most out of their off-road SUVs, Ford started offering free hands-on training last year through the Bronco Off-Roadeo program in four geographically diverse areas of the U.S. With the existing locations spread across the country, Ford decided it was time to close the gap and make the training accessible to more owners, and the company just announced the opening of the fifth Bronco Off-Roadeo location in Tennessee.

Located about an hour south of Knoxville, the new training spot adds the forested hills and challenging terrain of the Great Smoky Mountains and the Blue Ridge Parkway to the brand’s diverse locations. The other four locations in Texas, Las Vegas, Moab, and New Hampshire provide training over hills in the south and east, through the desert of Nevada, and across the red rocks of Utah, and the addition of Tennessee completes the set.

According to Ford, the new location puts 80 percent of Bronco owners within 500 miles of an Off-Roadeo training spot, making it reachable within a day for most. The class offers full-day training including classroom instruction and hands-on off-roading in Broncos provided by Ford. An all-day class is free for Bronco owners, but non-owners can pay for a four-hour off-road guided adventure. Travel and lodging are not included for anyone, so owners and enthusiasts alike must pay their own way there and find a place to stay if needed.

Construction is currently underway for the Tennessee Bronco Off-Roadeo location, but Ford is confident that it will be ready to go later this year, with registration already open to certain Bronco owners. We reached out to the automaker for clarification on the timeline and were told, “Full-day classes [are] available to Bronco and Bronco Sport owners start on October 4. Half-Day Adventure registrations open in July with an official start date to come.”

With the addition of a fifth training location, Ford also extended eligibility for Bronco owners, giving them more time to take advantage of the free guided adventure and instruction. 2022 Bronco, Bronco Sport, and Bronco Raptor owners – hundreds of thousands of them in the U.S. – now have until December 31, 2024 to complete the training. 2023 model year owners have until June 30, 2025, and 2024 Bronco drivers have until mid-December of 2025.
