With some NFL games on in the background – please don’t talk to me about that Bengals loss to the Patriots – I was perusing Cars & Bids this evening to see what was on the auction block heading into Monday. Almost immediately, my attention was drawn to this absolutely mammoth off-road rig. While the original Raptor is more than capable off the beaten path, MegaRexx upped the ante with this 2022 Ford F-250 MegaRaptor.
Even without any of the MegaRaptor mods, this truck was a beauty from the day it left the showroom floor. It started life as an F-250 Super Duty with a 6.7-liter turbocharged V8 that pumps out 475 horsepower and 1,050 pound-feet of torque. It’s also loaded with the Lariat Ultimate Package, including a 10-speaker sound system, a 12.0-inch infotainment center touchscreen powered by Ford Sync 4, a dual-panel sunroof, and all the trailer add-ons and technology assists possible. A capable truck on its own, but then MegaRexx got its hands on it and turned it into this beast.
The North Carolina-based shop specializes in building aggressive off-road trucks, and this F-250 MegaRaptor is no exception. To convert the truck into this adventure-ready rig, MegaRexx moved the front axle forward 1.5 inches, added a 4.5-inch lift kit, installed upgraded shocks and struts, and slapped on a set of 20-inch wheels wrapped in humongous 395/85R20 all-terrain tires. Those are 46-inch tires, by the way. Yes, you read that right. 46 inches!
To go along with these drivetrain and suspension-related mods, the truck also received a MegaRaptor body kit, an off-road front bumper, LED lights all around, a pair of AMP Research side steps, underbody lighting, a tubular rear bumper, and a few other things. MegaRexx also added some flat black and red accents to the exterior to make it pop a bit more.
This thing is just flat-out cool and it looks like it could do some serious off-road damage. Plus, it only has 2,200 miles on it with a clean and clear vehicle history report from CarFax, so it should have all the reliability of a fresh 6.7-liter engine from Ford. If whoever wins this thing reads this, I’d love to come check it out and person and go for a ride!
At the time of writing this, there are still about 36 hours left on the auction and the price is currently at $72,500. I wouldn’t be surprised if this got closer to six figures when the gavel drops. I’ll be back to update this story with the final sale price once the auction ends on Tuesday.
