All DBA rotors feature slotted grooves built in to the rotor surfaces. Because of these evenly spaced grooves, brake pads wear consistently all the way across - in turn, eliminating "lip" formation along the outside edge of the rotor that causes squealing, vibration, and harshness. You'll also find these slots boost braking performance in the rain and at higher speeds when temperatures increase. Because any brake pads used with them will wear evenly all the way across, lips forming along rotor edges will be minimal or non-existent as a result.

For the serious performance driver that’s mindful of avoiding high rotor temperatures that cause brake fluid boiling and pedal fade, DBA equips each 4000XS, 4000T3, 5000XS, and 5000T3 rotor with three paint marks that change color as the rotor metal reaches different temperature points. A green line becomes white at 856 degrees Fahrenheit, an orange line changes to yellow at 1,022 degrees Fahrenheit, and a pink line also changes to white when temperatures exceed 1,166 degrees Fahrenheit.
