Chanje came on the scene with its first commercial vehicle in 2017. Its first Class 5 panel van, named the V8070, was built on the electric architecture from the ground up instead of employing a modified diesel- or gas-powered platform. “V” in the model name stands for “van”, the digit eight indicates the vehicle’s length in meters (nearly 26.5 ft), while “070” means the van is equipped with a 70 kWh battery providing at least 100 miles of range. The Chanje V8070 boasts a 6,000-pound payload rating and a 580-cubic-foot cargo capacity, and as testing shows, a 30% incline poses no problem to carrying the load. Moving this vehicle forward is a dual-motor setup that drives the rear wheels. The system pushes out 198 hp and a massive 564 lb-ft of torque, promising better performance than turbodiesels that commonly power this class of vehicles. A top speed is rated at 80 mph, which is enough for urban and suburban delivery applications.

The V8070 was eventually replaced by the V8100 model. The newbie is dimensionally and mechanically similar to its predecessor but features a more capacious 100-kWh battery. It provides a longer driving range of 150 miles while also supporting DC fast charging in addition to Level 2 charging. The Chanje V8100 employs substantially the same motor system as its V8070 sibling, with identical power levels and payload specs. The new model’s cargo hold is rated at 675 cu. ft., and the interior offers a variety of configuration options for different transportation requirements.
