The BMW 7-Series, a full-size luxury four-door sedan, entered the market in 1977. Vehicles of the first generation were equipped with a six-cylinder gasoline engine. The second version of the model was released in 1986 – apart from the initial option, it also offered V8 and V12 gasoline engines. The third generation was introduced to customers in 1994. Gasoline engines experienced no changes, while diesel ones (six-cylinder turbo and V8 turbo) were added to the lineup. The fourth version (available since 2001) offered the same range. Automobiles of the fifth generation appeared in 2008 – they were upgraded with twin-turbo engines. The manufacture of the sixth generation began in 2015 – it is powered only with gasoline engines.
