Yes, as of March 1, 2017, the Black Widow’s warranty requires at least 1 hanger on the body of your muffler (not on the inlet or outlet tubing). Not doing this could cause damage to the muffler and will void your warranty.
WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN YOUR RACE VENOM AND WIDOWMAKER MUFFLERS?
The most obvious is the shape – Race Venoms have a square shape vs. the Widowmakers – which are round. While Black Widow Race Venom mufflers retain that classic/crisp hot rod sound, the brand’s Widowmaker mufflers are generally louder and, like all of its mufflers, help manage the opportunity for drone.
MY EXHAUST HAS ONLY ONE STOCK MUFFLER. DO I NEED TWO MUFFLERS TO GET A MORE AGGRESSIVE SOUND?
No, the brand’s mufflers are designed for straight-through airflow, so switching to a single Black Widow muffler will give your car or truck a more aggressive sound over your stock muffler. (Note: Black Widow mufflers will not make a 4-cylinder sound like a 6-cylinder or a 6-cylinder sound like an 8-cylinder.)
SHOULD I USE AN X-PIPE?
If youre running a dual exhaust system, Black Widow recommends an X-pipe (or H-pipe) for "ideal" sound results; however, an X-pipe is not necessary to obtain quality results. Black Widow also offers X-pipes for purchase.
WHICH MUFFLER IS THE LOUDEST?
Generally, the smaller the muffler, the louder it will be. For that reason, the Widowmaker muffler is typically the Black Widow’s loudest muffler.
IS THERE A DIFFERENCE IN SOUND BETWEEN THE PRO-SERIES AND THE CLASSIC-SERIES MUFFLERS?
No, Black Widow Pro-series mufflers are simply the polished versions of its Classic-series mufflers. The sound quality, construction and internal designs are identical.
IS THERE A DIFFERENCE IN QUALITY BETWEEN THE BRAND’S MUFFLERS?
No, all Black Widow mufflers are quality welded and are backed by its limited 2-million-mile warranty.
WHICH MUFFLER IS BEST FOR MY CAR OR TRUCK?
All of Black Widow mufflers are universal and can be made to fit almost any exhaust system. Its 300-series are the least aggressive. The 250-series are mid-range and its Race Venom and Widowmaker mufflers are the most aggressive.
I HAVE 2 1/4" EXHAUST PIPES. WILL BLACK WIDOW MUFFLERS WORK FOR MY CAR?
Yes, Black Widow mufflers are universal and can easily be adapted to fit your exhaust pipe. The brand recommends installation by a qualified muffler shop as additional fitting may be required.
HOW MANY CHAMBERS ARE THERE TO BLACK WIDOW’S MUFFLER DESIGN?
Black Widow mufflers do not have chambers. Chambers are created to channel airflow in an attempt to create a specific sound. The brand’s mufflers have a non-restrictive, straight-through hourglass design created by two sound deflectors that aid in pushing airflow out of the muffler at a greater velocity than upon entry.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE FOR BLACK WIDOW MUFFLERS TO BREAK-IN?
The brand’s mufflers do not use packing, so there is no "break-in" period. Because of this the sound will stay consistent throughout the life of the muffler.
