To solve, put the bar on the ground or a table. Start the nut and then lift up so gravity pulls the bar tight and locks the bolt so it will not turn. Once you have it semi -tight so you can still slide the leg on the cross bar to adjust for alignment then you will be able to tighten once you put it on the truck base posts. Barely clears my cab on my Tundra crew cab limited trd model. Noodles zip tied cross bar give the extra clearance. I have a sunroof so it has a hump on the cab.
