Both units are mated to a 7G-DCT dual-clutch transmission. The diesel engine lineup includes a 1.5 L unit and two versions of the all-new 2.0 L one. The 1.5 L engine is installed in the B180d and is capable of 116 HP. It is mated to a seven-speed automatic transmission. The 2.0 L diesel engine provides 150 HP in the B200d and 190 HP in the B220d and comes with a new 8-speed DSG automatic. The 2.0 L version installed in the B220d is transversely mounted for the first time. The 2019 Mercedes B-Class also offers buyers a variety of suspension systems to choose from. Thus, all models boast an independent rear suspension, save for the entry-level ones. Buyers can also get the optional adjustable dampers for more comfortable or sporty driving.

On the outside, the new Mercedes MPV looks like the A-Class hatchback mostly because of an abnormally tall roof.
