Many pickup truck shoppers do not need the big capabilities of full-size trucks and want to avoid a big price tag that comes along. The mid-size Chevrolet Colorado is targeted at those buyers. It offers the practicality typically expected from a pickup while being easier to maneuver and more comfortable to ride in than half-tons. The towing capacity of the Colorado, however, is quite high for the class, topping out at 7,700 when the truck is equipped with an optional diesel engine and the parts from the Trailering Equipment package. The hardcore ZR2 trim level, which comes fully prepared for off-roading, sets this model apart from other mid-size trucks. While there are enough options to configure the Colorado from the factory or at the dealer, the aftermarket offers way more of them, at a price far below what you would pay for original accessories. We’ve gathered some of the latest and greatest of aftermarket offerings in our selection of 2022 Chevy Colorado accessories & parts.
Except for the addition of the Trail Boss package, there are no changes to the 2022 model. The new pack upgrades the LT and Z71 trims with a 1.0-inch lift kit, skid plates, tow hooks, blacked-out badges, and ZR2-sourced black rims. It aims at customers who want some extra style and versatility than the conventional truck features; those who anticipate extreme excursions to the wilderness will surely be better off with the ZR2, which is fitted with an electronically locking rear diff, Multimatic shocks, and different front and rear bumpers, among other bits.
The 2022 Colorado carries over with a trio of engines and a choice of rear- or four-wheel drive. The lineup starts off with a 2.5-liter I4 with 200 hp, which is adequate for basic truck use. Stepping up to a 3.6-liter V6 brings more power (308 hp), a maximum tow rating of 7,000 pounds which is a huge increase over the standard engine’s 3,500 pounds, and a more refined 8-speed automatic transmission, compared to other units paired to a 6-speed auto. The 2.8-liter turbodiesel I4 is the sole diesel offering in the mid-size segment. It unlocks the truck’s maximum load pulling power while being the most fuel-efficient option. Keep your pickup in top condition, ready to do anything you expect from it with the 2022 Chevy Colorado parts and accessories that we carry.
