After a decade-long hiatus, the Chevy Trailblazer makes a big comeback. The TrailBlazer of old was a rugged truck-based mid-size SUV, while the revived version is a subcompact crossover with car-based underpinnings. The new incarnation of the SUV takes many styling cues from its bigger sibling, the Blazer, which means a sporty Camaro-inspired look is going to be one of its selling points as well. Many of the exterior styling details and performance capabilities depend on the trim level. The RS is a sportier take on the model with its “floating” two-tone roof, blacked-out exterior accessories, dual exhaust, and more aggressive suspension tuning. Although the architecture of the all-new Trailblazer does not suppose serious off-road potential, the Activ model sits higher off the ground and adds parts that help it navigate the roads less traveled with greater confidence. These include unique wheels and tires along with beefed-up dampers. The SUV’s new design enables more customization, and a wide variety of 2021 Chevy Trailblazer accessories and parts are readily available on the market for owners to build their vehicle around their needs.
The second-generation Trailblazer is very similar to its Buick Encore GX sibling in powertrain configurations. Under the hood, there’s one of two turbocharged four-cylinder engines. The standard unit displaces 1.2 liters and produces 137 hp and 162 lb-ft of torque sent to the front wheels by a CVT. An upgrade option is a slightly bigger 1.3-liter 155-hp four teamed with a 9-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. A switchable AWD feature is available, which means the driver can turn AWD off at the push of a button when all-wheel traction is not needed and have it back in foul weather.
Even in its least expensive form, the 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer has generous safety equipment. Forward collision mitigation, lane-keeping steering assist, rear-seat reminder, and auto high-beams are on the list of standard electronic driver assists. Buyers can also opt for parking assistance, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, and other systems that add to driving safety. The Trailblazer has more interior room than the Trax while being less spacious than the Blazer. The 60/40-split sets in the second row allow for 54 cubes of cargo space and enable the owner to transport items that measure up to 8.5 feet in length. Unique materials and seat stitching differentiate the trim levels, creating a special environment in each. You can add your own custom touch to the cabin by upgrading it with 2021 Chevy Trailblazer parts and accessories from our catalog.
