Unlike the 240 that was an ultimate Volvo’s bestseller for the years 1975-1982, the 260 Series was rather icily accepted by customers, particularly in Europe. Unsatisfactory sales forced Volvo to discontinue the 260 Series in 1982, prior to the 700 model introduction.
