UMI Performance Suspension Parts

UMI Performance

UMI is a customer-oriented manufacturer offering a complete line of suspension and chassis products. The company goes above and beyond in its pursuit to offer you the latest in design and function. Its chassis and suspension products are engineered especially for GM classics, mid and late models, trucks as well as the Ford Mustang. The current inventory of the company also includes universal heavy-duty sway bars, top-grade roto-joint ends as well as superior replacement parts such as ball joints, torque arm parts, adjusters, bushings, polyurethane ends, etc.

The end of 2002 marks the foundation of UMI. The company started under the watchful eye of Ryan Kirkwood and the umbrella of his father Denny. As one team, father and son spent a good deal of time to design a range of products for many makes and models of GM vehicles and the Ford Mustang. Ryan recognized the big demand for chassis and suspension products and the lack of these components on the market. Strongly focused to meet the requirements of the customers and satisfy their expectations, the company has managed to satisfy the demand and now proudly stays ahead of the industry.

In 2003, UMI started its official existence in the aftermarket suspension industry when it presented its first test vehicle, a 1994 Ford Mustang GT. This vehicle was utilized as a test bed for UMI Fox and SN95 platform products. The company’s products began to expand so quickly that it became virtually impossible to store them in the warehouse. The faster UMI manufactured new products the quicker they were sold out. In late 2003, UMI acquired a 2000 Pontiac Firebird which was used as their F-Body platform design vehicle. With time, products began to appear on the market for the GM F-Body, and relatively soon UMI became a prominent, technologically advanced company, one of the largest and most trusted suspension manufactures in the modern automotive market.

UMI engineers and technicians are proud to offer their customers American made products, hand crafted and constructed with precision and love. They thoroughly develop and manufacture products within a 35,000 sq ft facility, situated in the small town of Philipsburg, PA, USA. Controlling the whole process from design to production, from componentry to a finished product, the company manages to offer the finest quality. In its technologically advanced facility the following processes are performed: CNC machining and laser cutting, band sawing, press brake operation, MIG and TIG welding, sand blasting, and powder coating. Today, twelve years afterwards its foundation, UMI wants to extend thanks to its customers for their loyalty and support, and promises to only move forward in years to come.

Great upgrade for the Roadmaster, Caprice, and Impala SS. I bought it for my 1996 Buick Roadmaster Sedan. What a difference they make. The car feels way more planted and controlled through corners. Install was very straight forward. Shipping was excellent as well, said it would take a month to arrive, showed up in about a week and a half. A few notes though, please include the differential housing bushings in with the kit. It's a pain once they arrive and you figure that out. Also, please drill a hole in the passenger side upper trailing for the ride height sensor for the cars equipped with the Automatic Air Suspension. I love to support a small business with great products. I would buy again when I get another car that they make products for.
