The California-based TSW company, which is formerly known as Tiger Sports Wheels, was founded in 1967 by Eddie Keizan, a former Formula One racer with tons of experience in the motorsports scene. He used the prize money to start his own company. The specialists and engineers working in the TSW research and development facility use the knowledge gained on the race track to make their wheels stronger and better so that the vehicle equipped with such rims can go faster while remaining safe and reliable. Since 2011, TSW started utilizing the revolutionary rotary forging technology in its manufacturing process.
By forging the alloy while rotating a billet at high speed, the greater structural strength of the end product can be achieved. In the mid-2000s, many automakers started utilizing wider rear wheels on RWD models, which became known as the staggered wheel configuration.
