Remote start is a simple and not that expensive system, which prolongs the lifespan of the engine and greatly improves comfort. How? After the cold start, the engine needs some time to reach operating temperature. During these 10-15 minutes, it’s not recommended to strain the engine and push your vehicle hard, because cold oil cannot properly lubricate the surfaces, and uneven heating may result in deformations and quick wear of the parts in the engine block and cylinder heads. There are numerous discussions about how much time is needed to warm up the engine before setting off – a couple of seconds or several minutes, but if you want your engine to serve well for long, some time is needed anyway, especially in winter. With a remote start, you can get the engine pre-warmed before getting in the cabin and hence avoid inconveniences.
