Mission Statement
It is the company's intent to hire the most highly qualified people in management, engineering, tooling, production and quality control in order to assure that the customers have the best possible product available.
Company History
Sherwood Innovations Inc. was incorporated on February 1, 1997. Prior to this date, they operated as a Division of Centro Manufacturing for 3 years. Sherwood Innovations has benefited from its association with Centro by drawing on their extensive engineering and manufacturing capabilities as a tier 2 supplier to the Original Equipment Manufacturers. The result is a superior quality product at an exceptional price. Production of this high-quality, high-value wood dash has resulted in substantial growth in each year of operation.
In October 1999, Sherwood Innovations Inc. purchased the assets of TrimMaster Inc., a major competitor in the dash industry with a strong presence in the OE market. The new company is now known as Sherwood Innovations Inc. The company operates out of Toronto, Ontario. Today, the product line includes real wood dashes, graphic dashes and molded dashes. In a few short years, they've grown from three employees to a dedicated and diverse team. In July 2002, Sherwood completed their certification for ISO9001 and QS9000 quality systems. In 2006, they completed certification for TS16949, the highest quality standard in the industry. Sherwood Innovations has come a long way in a short period of time, but it is their sincere belief that they are only at the beginning of a long, prosperous journey.
Today, Sherwood Innovations is the industry leading manufacturer of premium Flat and 3D-Molded dash trim applications. Their kits are OEM approved and are made from a variety of materials including Real Wood, Real Carbon Fiber and Simulated Patterns. Sherwood is proud to offer the largest selection of flat and molded kits. The 2D/flat dash kits by Sherwood remain the best in the industry, while the growing collection of 3D/Molded Kits presents a new concept in the interior trim industry.
Factory Label and Symbol Printing
Rather than covering up or making unnecessary cutouts to expose factory symbols, Sherwood reprints these important symbols underneath a clear coat to keep the interior looking original.
S-Tec Insert Technology
The patent-pending S-Tec Insert Technology combines standard materials with a chrome-like insert to create a new, exciting look. Available exclusively from Sherwood Innovations!
Ultra Flex Clear Coat
In addition to the out-of-the-box flexibility that the professional installers will love, the new Ultra Flex clear coat lasts up to 5 times longer against harmful UV exposure.
Sherwood Innovations is proud to hold the highest-quality certification possible in the industry with globally-recognized quality system compliance to ISO/TS16949. Serving the OEM industry across North America as well as across the globe, Sherwood’s mission is to hire the most highly qualified people in management, engineering, tooling, production, and quality control in order to ensure that their customers have the best possible products available.
Sherwood’s state-of-the-art 41,000-square-foot facility in Toronto, Ontario supports extensive testing to ensure each of their products meets their own self-imposed standards for excellence.
Simulates extreme environmental conditions encountered inside a vehicle due to sunlight (UV), heat, and humidity. If present, harmful effects on a dash trim part can be observed such as fading, cracking, and delaminating.
Dash trim parts are put through various burn and flame tests to ensure compliance with Federal Motor Vehicles Safety Standard (FMVSS) #302.
After a dash trim part is impacted with an object, its resistance and/or failure to breakage is observed.
The effects of common nicks and scratches that can occur on interior trim parts during normal operation are simulated after 1000 cycles of abrasion testing.
Common fluids used for automotive applications such as gasoline, motor oil, brake fluid, engine coolant, and washer fluid are applied separately to the clear coat, looking for harmful effects such as fogging, discoloration, smearing, and grazing.
Moisture meter testing, gloss meter testing, and color match testing are other tests that ensure Sherwood products meet the quality standards that are their mission.
