Every engine needs a well-timed spark in each cylinder for easy starting, good performance and optimal fuel mileage, but it’s especially critical for making horsepower in a racing engine. You can cram as much air and fuel into the cylinders as you can with high-flow intakes and big carburetor or injectors, but it will be wasted if the mixture doesn’t burn completely and provide the full force of combustion that drives the pistons. With our racing ignition parts, you’ll get a powerful spark for complete combustion and maximum horsepower.

We can supply you with components that will deliver superior performance no matter what type of ignition system you’re running. Engines with coil-on-plug ignitions are candidates for high voltage coils that will produce long duration, high energy spark even at high RPM, and sophisticated ignition controllers that allow you to adjust the ignition timing curve. For distributor ignition systems we have electronic ignition conversion kits, low resistance, high-temperature resistant plug wires, caps, rotors, high-voltage coils, modules, high rpm point sets, adjustable vacuum advance units, complete distributors, and CDI (Capacitive Discharge Ignition) ignition boxes.

Combustion starts at the spark plug and we have a huge selection so you can get the heat range, reach, degree of tip projection, and material that’s right for your engine. We offer the latest platinum and iridium tipped plugs from the top brands, with air gap and electrode features that will provide more complete combustion than ordinary plugs, with exceptional durability. Racing engines generate a lot of heat, and modifications like headers can expose wires to heat that OE wires can’t handle. Our racing spark plug wires have low resistance for a hotter spark, and they thrive in temperature extremes and when routed around headers and other performance parts.

The ignition coil turns the 12 volts from the battery into the high voltage needed to fire the spark plugs. But where ordinary coils develop about 15,000-40,000 volts, our performance coils can produce 50,000 volts or more, with faster rise time and increased duration, for a strong spark even at high RPMs. For even more performance consider a performance ignition box like one of our CDI systems. A CDI provides multiple sparks at low RPM for efficient combustion and discharges a capacitor through the coil at high RPM to fire the spark plugs at a much faster rate than the coil could normally charge and fire.

Upgrade your factory distributor with a performance cap and rotor. We offer tough, alkyd compound caps with brass inserts, which resist corrosion and provide better conductivity. If you’re using breaker points, we have sets with extra thick contact arms to prevent flexing at high rpm and condensers with mylar foil windings to prevent points contact pitting. You can get more precise and consistent spark timing and eliminate the need for breaker point replacement with an electronic ignition conversion kit. Or get these features and more with a performance distributor. Our distributors are available with dual points or electronic ignition, and some even feature preprogrammed or custom advance curves, with housings turned from billet aluminum and shafts that turn on oil lite bushings and/or ball bearings.

But before you can get any spark you have to get the engine cranking. Big inch, high compression engines can be tough to start with original equipment starters, and high-powered ignition systems, and electrical accessories like fuel pumps and water pumps can create large current draws on the battery and charging system. We have AGM (Absorbed Glass Mat) batteries with Amp Hour (AH) ratings that can handle the load, and shock and vibration resistant construction that’s ideal for the harsh racing environment, especially off-road racing. We also offer an extensive selection of battery trays and mounts, so you can position the battery wherever you want it, as well as relocation kits that place the battery in the rear of the vehicle – freeing up space in the engine bay and putting weight where it can aid traction.

Our performance starters have the torque to reliably crank large displacement, high compression engines without overheating, plus they’re available in a range of physical sizes and mounting configurations so the starter won’t interfere with components like headers and oil pans. No matter how many electrical accessories you’re running – nitrous solenoids, trans brake as well as ignition, fans and electric fuel pump and water pump, we have the high output alternators that can handle the amp draw, including one-wire alternators that make installation easy. We also offer deep groove and underdrive pulleys, lightweight pulley kits, and serpentine belt conversion kits.

On our digital shelves you’ll also find all your racing electrical wiring needs. We have battery cables and terminals, alternator cables, and fuse blocks, fuses, circuit breakers and relays. Race cars are generally required to have a master kill switch, mounted on the outside of the vehicle, that disables all electrical power. We have these switches as well as starter switches and rocker switches for all your electrical accessories. And whether you’re building your racer from scratch or you want to update an older car for a newer powerplant, fuel injection, and modern electronics, we have complete harnesses for most popular systems and vehicles that take the hassle out of wiring.
