The Porsche 928 luxury sports coupe was produced from 1978 to 1995. It was designated to take the place of Porsche's legendary 911. The 928's front mounted V8 engine with 4.5L displacement was mated to either a manual gearbox or Mercedes Benz's automatic transmission. This configuration allowed the Porsche 928 to produce 219 horsepower, and became known as the fastest car sold in US in 1983.
