The story of Oberg Filters traces back to 1973 when its founder Gordon (Gordy) Oberg realized that already existing oil filters did not comply with the performance requirements of racing engines and created his own high-efficiency filter capable to filter out microscopic particles and ready to serve unlimited time. Gordy soon started offering and advertising “Oberg oil filters” to die-hard racers from across the globe. As the Oberg filtration system was extremely dependable and efficient, its acceptance and recognition were not long in coming. It quickly gained popularity and received much praise.

1982 is the starting point of the official journey of the company as this is the year when Oberg Enterprises, Inc. was formed. First applied in the auto racing industry, the filters of the company have extended the scope of application and now are also used in agricultural, fleet, marine, and industrial spheres. In addition to eco-friendly filters, Oberg Filters also manufactures a wide range of premium filter accessories and race parts. In 2006 the company’s founder ceded control over Oberg to his son Kelly who felt the need to breathe new life into the old honored products.

After a while, Oberg headed by Kelly produced the new CNC milled 6061 T-6 aluminum filter in different anodized colors. The upgrades proved to be successful and made Gordy feel proud of his descendant. Today the filters of the company also feature filter screens made of a stainless steel mesh and Viton rubber compression molded O-ring surrounds. The use of viton rubber ensures you can safely and responsibly use an Oberg filter with diesel, gas, methanol or alcohol. The company also offers the innovative Tattle-Tale warning system that is attached to a buzzer or a light in your vehicle to signal the occurrence of a defect and alert you of the need to inspect the screen. This gives you a certain peace of mind as you exactly know what is going through your motor and feel confident that there is no cause for concern.
