Probably the most renowned series by Jeep, the Wrangler made its debut in 1986. It was a compact four-wheel drive off-road SUV powered by a 2.5 L AMC 150 I4 power plant. A more powerful 4.2 L AMC 258 I6 was also offered as an option. Originally, the Jeep Wrangler featured one of two 2-door bodies – a convertible or an SUV, but in 2006 (for the 2007 model year) 4-door versions of the same body styles became available. Three generations of the Wrangler were developed during its production run and several special editions were created as well. The model is very popular – almost 490,000 units were sold in 2014 and 2015 in total.
