The Commander is a unique vehicle in Jeep lineup, produced from 2006 to 2010. With the initial inspiration sourcing from the Jeep Grand Wagoneer, with the wheelbase and driveline borrowed from the Jeep Grand Cherokee, the Commander also closely resembled the second generation Jeep Cherokee, with its boxy appearance, an upright windshield and squared-off sides. This SUV is the largest vehicle ever produced under the Jeep brand. In a manner of speaking, the key word describing the Commander is spaciousness. The vehicle can seat up to seven people, and each passenger will be provided with an appropriate level of comfort and safety. The Commander’s distinctive attribute is its stepped roof that was cleverly concealed by the roof rack. This allowed the second and third-row seats to be mounted higher than the first-row seats. Higher yet not less comfortable.
Though the Commander can easily overcome most of the rough terrain conditions, its large size means that it isn’t only an outstanding off-road vehicle, but it also means the vehicle can tow up to 7,200 pounds.
