HAZET Brake Service Tools

I required this tool when replacing brake pads on a 2015 BMW M4, equipped with 4-piston front calipers, and 2-piston rear calipers. Since the pistons are directly opposite one another, it made sense that the tool would allow compressing the pistons into their bores one pair at a time. In order to replace brake pads on the M4, removal of the caliper is not required. One removes the pad retaining pins and expansion spring; that frees the pads for removal from the caliper. Next, the Hazet tool is placed in line with two pistons and the handle operated to compress the pistons into the bores. This tool makes the process very easy, and much faster than a C-clamp. The manufacturers were sufficiently thorough in their tool preparation that the threads on the tool were lubricated before shipment. It is a heavy tool, suitable, in my opinion, for commercial use. It is also rather expensive, but if you want the right tool for the job, this will be an excellent addition to your tool collection.
