Dodge Charger Engine Trim

Introduced for the 1966 model year, the Dodge Charger is still in production nowadays. However, the current model has almost nothing in common with the original version. Back in the 1960s, the Charger was a mid-size 2-door automobile that utilized a 5.2 L V8 engine. The present-day variant (launched in 2005) is a full-size 4-door sedan. It employs an advanced 3.6 L Pentastar V6 in the base trim. Both vehicles are rear-wheel drive. However, in the 1980s (1981-1987), Dodge manufactured a front-wheel drive version of the Charger. It was a subcompact 3-door hatchback constructed on the L-body platform that used small engines with the swept volume from 1.6 L to 2.2 L.
