Callies is proud to stay ahead of the competition with the high-tech design and production advantages. At Callies, they use computer-aided solid modeling programs and CNC machining technologies. The process of product development is painstaking – every Callies rod or crankshaft is designed and engineered with precision, its reliability and resistance is thoroughly tested, and until all tests show excellent results, the part doesn’t go to the production stage.
Callies is famous for innovative and quality products. For example, the Callies Dragonslayer crank is made utilizing Ultra-Case heat treatment, which ensures its durability, and polishing procedures that create perfect load carrying surfaces. Built using super-pure AISI 4340 steel, Callies Magnum crankshafts are some of the strongest competition crankshafts available on the market. Apart from specially-designed Callies crankshafts such as Stock Eliminator, Ultra Billet, or Magnum, the company produces prototype crankshafts. Each and every crankshaft is thoroughly inspected for critical dimensions, and the machinery is monitored for tolerance drift and tool degradation on a regular basis. That helps Callies cranks set the standard for quality of finish and reliability.
Callies rods have always been special products for the company. All rods are manufactured from Timken steel that is formulated according to exact specs of Callies. The line of rods is large and includes even special lightweight versions for specific models. Callies Compstar rods are designed for higher horsepower engines and feature light weight, more advanced design, and big bore end sizing. Among Callies connecting rods, there are also innovative ones – Ultra XD rods allow for the use of a larger base circle cam for better valvetrain stability, more lift using the same base circle, or longer stroke.
