America is expected to get the Q8 powered by the new 3.0-liter V6 gasoline engine good for 340 hp, while the European-spec model can be had with either of two versions of a 3.0-liter V6 diesel, delivering 231 hp or 286 hp. All powertrains are planned to use a 48-volt mild-hybrid system. All-wheel drive is standard and all-wheel steering is optional, meant to provide the ultimate in handling and traction. There are three suspension setups available: traditional steel springs plus adjustable dampers and two variants of air suspension systems, offering up to 10 inches of ground clearance.
