The Acura RDX debuted at the 2006 New York Auto Show in advance of the 2007 model year. It has also picked up numerous awards, including being nominated for Motor Trend magazine's Sport Utility of the Year (2007) and being named an Insurance Institute for Highway Safety Top Safety Pick for 2009.
